Grandma's Recipes One By One!

Peanut Butter Cookies

on October 2, 2013

Today’s recipe for Peanut Butter Cookies is an old one, as you can tell by the fact that Grandma wrote this recipe with her old fountain pen. She used that pen in the old days.

This is the recipe I have always used and still use today.

When our kids were growing up and going to school, they would get these in their bag lunches a lot.

Rumor has it that they were once my sons favorite.

Peanut Butter Cookies

I used my trusty ice cream scoop to get uniform sized cookies for this, but I used to get more cookies from a batch of this dough.

I guess they get smaller without the scoop!

Here is the recipe as I made it:

Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup butter

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons baking soda

salt (I used 1/2 teaspoon)

2 eggs

2 1/2 cup all purpose flour

Mix peanut butter and butter together. Cream butters and sugars together. I then added the rest of the ingredients in the order given. Roll in balls and stamp with a fork dipped in flour.

Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

I gave them the old criss-cross stamp with the fork.

Hot out of the oven!
